Dear Brothers and Sisters in Scouting
As you may have heard, there has been a huge, tragic fire in Valparaiso, Chile. The fire has claimed five homes that belonged to scouting families. Thankfully none of the scouts were harmed. Lots of residents are living in shelters and the Red Cross and the “Agrupacion Nacional de Boy Scouts de Chile”, our WFIS Member Association in Chile, are assisting where they can and they have put in many long hours.
The WFIS Americas Regional Council is in permanent contact with the Scouters in Valparaiso and have started to ask for financial support from its member Associations.
The WFIS World Council has set up an account to collect money, to support the Scouts in Valparaiso and for financial assistance to the scouting families who lost their homes.
Please share this with your groups in your Association. We know that any and all help will be greatly appreciated.
We will keep you updated as soon as we have more news.
If you are willing to help, please contact the World Council :
