Founders day / Thinking day 2015

Written by WFIS Admin on February 21st, 2015

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Scouting,

On the 22.February 2015, we will celebrate the annual       158th Birthday of our Founder Robert Stephenson Smith Baden-Powell, Lord of Gilwell and remember as well Baden-Powell’s wife Olave St. Clair, former World Chief Guide .

On this international Scouts and Guides day, we will take the chance, to send Thinking Day and Founders Day greetings that wish you peace and friendship with all brothers and sisters in Scouting and Guiding from across the world.

Keep your Scout promise and the Scout law in mind and take the opportunity to celebrate the true traditional Scouting at this day and I would like to enthuse you personally and all your Scouts and Guides in your association to remember the true traditional spirit of Scouting, given by Lord Baden-Powell.

As you may know all our brothers and sisters in Scouting worldwide will celebrate Thinking day or Founders Day, so please take the possibility to use the “Penny Action” at this day to support Scouts in our Federation who are less well off than us.

This year we ask that your thinking day pennies go to help to buy badges for Scouts in Africa and to Scouts from Kiel in Germany, whose scout hut burned down at the beginning of this year.

We hope you think of others today and always remember that “Together we are strongest”.

With the hope to see you soon at a next camp or Jamboree,

Yours in traditional Scouting
